The moment has arrived, I got my speccie blood donor card in the mail today (double yay-factor whammie - I got mail, AND I found out my blood type on my new shiny card). After WEEKS of anticipation (never minding the fact I could probably have easily found out by looking on my birth certificate, I preferred to ignore that fact and savour the anticipation of waiting for my card) my blood type is...
A NEG
I was slightly disappointed - NEG sounds a little more pessimistic than POS, which has a more optimistic ring to it. But I'll get the all-knowing Anne to fill me in on the benefits of A NEG this arvo.

I seem to recall that A Neg is the rare blood type... So keep donating it!
A Neg is indeed a rare(r) blood type with only 7% of the Australian population having this type (don't worry, I didn't know this exact figure of the top of my head, I looked it up!). So definitely keep donating! I on the other hand am the boring O+, the most common blood type of all.
i'm B POS.
get it?
BE POSITIVE!
hehehehe.
mum is too.
how exciting is getting your little card?! hehe. WHAT FUN!!
x.
lol woohoo I'm a rarity! And Phili, isn't O+ the universal blood type?
Sez, you lucky thing - you get a blood type AND a motto in one!
you were dissappointed when you got your card?!? I was disappointed because I was boring O+ like most people. anyway thats quite exciting. what was the actual donor experience like? when i donated blood the blood actually stopped going into the little baggy and started beeping.
same! the woman inserted it near a valve in my vain apparently so the tube kept vibrating because enough blood wasn't going through. And there was the beeping noise as well, which at first I was completely oblivious to and thought was normal! But the whole experience wasn't so bad - no fainting episodes or turning green which was a relief. AND the free food wasn't so bad either.
what are you talking about!? as if the food is good :|
haha, oh well.
i actually liked donating, oohhhhh except for the haemoglobin test, that HURTS. but it was cool how you could see the blood going into the bag. well i thought so - ness [we went together], had to get the needle covered with a towel so she didnt have to see it in her arm!!
AND, last time we went, neither of us could donate, it SUCKED, i had a high, irregular pulse, she had a high pulse [it was the same as mine :|] and low haemoglobin.
the moral of the story is; never watch someone faint then go donate blood.
actually i dont know if it was because of that.
hehe, i like that, motto & blood type in one :P
BOO YAH!
Finally i beat the jesster at something!
i am A pos!!
that's, like, the highest grade in high school!
BOO YAH
your good friend,
katy
